Description
ANENG PN200 High Precision Digital Clamp Meter
The ANENG PN200 High Precision Digital Clamp Meter is a compact and multifunctional electrical testing instrument designed for measuring AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance and frequency. It combines the convenience of a clamp meter with the measurement functions of a digital multimeter, making it suitable for electrical troubleshooting, electronics work, automotive testing, DIY projects and general maintenance.
The PN200 features an auto-ranging digital multimeter system and a clamp mechanism that allows current to be measured without directly disconnecting the conductor. The instrument also provides continuity, diode and non-contact voltage detection functions.
AC/DC Current Measurement
The main advantage of the ANENG PN200 Digital Clamp Meter is its clamp-style current measurement. The clamp jaws can be placed around a suitable conductor to measure current without inserting the meter directly in series with the circuit.
The published PN200 specifications support AC/DC current measurement up to 600A, with different ranges and resolutions depending on the selected function.
This makes the meter useful for checking current in suitable electrical and automotive applications.
AC/DC Voltage Measurement
The PN200 can measure both AC and DC voltage. Its published voltage ranges extend up to 600V, with AC measurement specified across 40–400Hz.
It can therefore be used for testing batteries, power supplies, electrical circuits and other compatible low-voltage installations.
Resistance Measurement
The meter supports resistance measurement across multiple ranges, with published specifications extending up to 40MΩ. This function is useful for checking resistors, wires, connections and other electrical components.
Capacitance and Frequency Testing
The ANENG PN200 also provides capacitance and frequency measurement functions, making it more versatile than a basic current clamp.
Capacitance measurement can be used when checking suitable capacitors, while frequency measurement is useful for testing compatible electronic and electrical signals.
NCV Non-Contact Voltage Detection
The NCV function allows the user to detect AC voltage without directly touching the conductor with the test probe. According to the manual, the NCV indicator and buzzer respond when AC voltage above the specified detection threshold is sensed.
NCV should be treated as a preliminary detection function and must not replace proper voltage measurement with suitable test leads.
Continuity and Diode Testing
The PN200 includes audible continuity testing for checking whether an electrical path is complete. It also provides a diode-test function for checking suitable semiconductor components.
These functions are useful for electronics repair, PCB troubleshooting, wiring checks and component testing.
Auto-Ranging Function
The PN200 uses an auto-ranging system, which automatically selects an appropriate measurement range for many measurement functions. This makes routine testing more convenient, particularly when the expected value is unknown.
Data Hold and Backlight
The meter includes a data-hold function that allows a measurement to remain visible on the LCD. It also has a display-light function for improved visibility in darker working environments.
Compact Handheld Design
The PN200 is designed as a portable handheld meter. Published specifications list dimensions of approximately 183 × 65 × 32 mm, with an approximately 21 mm jaw opening, and a weight of around 133g.
Its compact size makes it convenient for carrying in an electrical toolkit, workshop or service bag.
Wide Range of Applications
The ANENG PN200 Digital Clamp Meter can be used for:
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Electronics repair
- Automotive electrical testing
- Battery and charging-system checks
- Wiring and continuity testing
- DIY electronics projects
- Electrical maintenance
- Workshop testing
- Component testing
- General electrical measurements
Easy-to-Use Controls
The meter has a rotary function selector and dedicated controls for functions such as data hold/backlight, relative measurement and function selection. The manual identifies the clamp head, trigger, NCV indicator, LCD, COM terminal, function switch and measurement terminals as the main controls.
Safety
The PN200 is specified for CAT II 600V applications and should not be used beyond its specified measurement limits. The manual also advises proper test-lead connection/disconnection procedures and warns against operating the meter with the battery cover removed.
Always verify the measurement category and maximum input rating before testing a circuit.
